For Clients and Staff:
To our valued partners at the Care Management Organizations (CMO) and Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS),
Legacy Counseling has been a certified provider for the ARC Grow model for the past 7 years. As partners in the Children's System of Care, we know how important it is to have effective, targeted interventions for the families we serve. ARC Grow is a powerful tool, and we are excited to collaborate with you to deliver this service.
This post will give you a clear overview of the model, how you can talk to families about it, and the exact steps for making a referral for ARC-Grow.
ARC Grow is a specialized, caregiver-focused intervention. It is designed explicitly as a skill-building program for caregivers to help enhance resilient outcomes for families who are impacted by chronic adversity or stress.
It’s a structured, supportive program that includes key components:
When you identify a family who could benefit, you can engage them in a conversation about the intervention's key components. You can explain it as a 12-session program designed to give them (the caregivers) new tools to manage stress, understand their child’s needs, and build stronger family routines.
We want to make this easy for you and the families you serve. If a caregiver wants to learn more about the program from their perspective, please direct them to our new Resource tab: (https://www.legacycounselingllc.net/resources/) on the Legacy Counseling website. We've designed it to be welcoming and answer their questions directly.
When a family wishes to participate, the referral process follows the standard CSOC guidelines you already use.
Here is a simple, step-by-step guide:
Because ARC Grow is a caregiver-focused approach, the family may need to plan for the youth's care during the 90-minute session to ensure the caregiver gets the maximum benefit.
As a helpful reminder, Behavioral Assistance (BA) services can be delivered to the youth at the same time an IIC session of ARC Grow is occurring with the caregiver. This just needs to be clinically indicated, planned by the CMO, CFT or MRSS and family, and part of the pre-authorized plan of care.
We are committed to ensuring timely and coordinated service delivery and look forward to strengthening our partnership with you through this important new service.
